Hello everyone!

We are looking forward to planning our first official build contest here on Cassiopeia and we want to get you guys involved. So, help us come up with themes for the contest! It can be anything that would be fun to build around, like... Haunted Houses or Winter Wonderland! Leave all your ideas here in this thread and we'll create a poll soon to gauge interest.

We have an entire world dedicated to minigames and we'd love to have you all build it up! To access this world, just head to the spawn building in the Main World and go through the Minigames Portal. From there, you will enter our minigames world where you can put your creations!

Simply head into the Minigames world and claim a plot to begin. To claim the plot, stand in your desired plot and use the command /plot claim. You can claim multiple plots (up to 5) and merge plots into one to create bigger plots! To merge plots, you must claim both plots. Then stand in one of the plots and look towards the plot you want to merge with it and use the command /plot merge. This will remove the road between the plots and create one larger plot.

You can set a bunch of custom flags within your claim to customize the experience of your minigame- you can set user's gamemodes, the time and weather inside your plot and dozens of other features. The plots plugin, PlotsSquared, has great information built into the plugin so simply type /plot help to view more information on commands you can use. If your minigame requires a setting that you cannot access or you need help figuring out the plugin, do not hesitate to reach out to a staff member! We will be happy to help you make the coolest minigame you can.

• Remember that all builds on the server are subject to our Redstone and Mob Farm rulesand minigames are no exception!
  
• Your minigame must be in some way interactive, even if it's just a guided minecart tour. This is not a place to simply showcase pretty builds- you want the Creative world for that!
  
• To advertise your minigames, feel free to use this subforum (the Contests and Minigames subforum). This could be especially useful if your game requires a bit of explanation or if it needs multiple people to play at once in order to function.
  

One of our favorite things to do here on Cassiopeia is hold contests- they always bring the community together and they are really fun to participate in! As the server grows and establishes itself, we will begin holding contests regularly, but, for now, we will hold contests sporadically as our schedules dictate. When a schedule is determined it will be listed here- for now, check here often to see when we plan on holding contests in the future!

Q: What sort of contests do you hold on Cassiopeia?
A: As of right now, we hold primarily build contests- but we are always open for suggestions!

Q: How will I know a contest is going to take place?
A: We will announce the contest dates in this thread, in a thread announcement and in game.

Q: Are there prizes for participating? What about winning?
A: Yes, there are! You will earn tokens for participating and placing in our contests, which can be spent on in-game items. The prize store will be coming soon ™.

Q: Where do contests take place?
A: In the Contest World, of course! This can be accessed from the spawn building.

Projects and Builds is the perfect place to show off or get some help and feedback with your latest build. Simply start a new thread- making sure to set your prefix appropriately -and you're ready to show your build off to the community!

About Thread Prefixes
These prefixes are optional, but help organize and sort this subforum! You can set the prefix on your thread when you first create it, by selecting the most appropriate prefix from the drop down box beside the Thread Subject.

• Feedback threads are for when you want critique or advice about your build or project. Adding a poll is a great way to take anonymous feedback, as well!
  
• Help Wanted threads are a great way to get some assistance with your build. Maybe you need an extra set of hands to help you construct, want some people to move into your village, or maybe you simply ran out of cobblestone- whatever your need may be, a Help Wanted thread is the way to get it noticed!
  
• Show and Tell threads are all about showing off your newest build or project. You can create a new thread for each build you make, keeping the threads updated regularly like a journal, or make one mega-thread for all your projects- the choice is yours! If you want people to come and see your build in-game, be sure to include directions and coordinates for visiting!
